This year we decided to start the new year off with an adventure. Our surprise 4-day weekend kind of helped (how often do you get those?!). We hopped on the Kingston ferry for a trip over to the Olympic National Park, not exactly sure what we’d find – well, likely lots of trees, some pretty views, and some good hikes. Well, we found snow, gorgeous scenery, lots of Twilight-targeted tourism in Port Angeles, and tried snowshoeing for the first time. It was awesome!! (minus the Twilight part) We loved that you could make your own path and go along at your own pace – the opposite of snowboarding. I like that there’s less falling, too. We may have to look up some more snowshoeing trails once we get home!
